Bowl or basin of this form were traditionally used in Southeast Asia to hold Gold Ingot & coins.

Chinese cornucopia are feature references to the mythical "treasure bowl" which would usually grant unending wealth to those who hold it.

Bottom shape is square palace or city wall, meaning unbreakable. Square at the bottom, round at the top, called "round sky and square earth", meaning Yin and Yang balance, activity and inertia balance.
